The Lake Country Chorus (LCC) presented “A Tinseltown Christmas” at the First Methodist Church in Greensboro last Thursday evening.
The annual event sold out once more and drew high praise from attendees.
“A Tinseltown Christmas” featured songs from many favorite holiday movies, such as “What Christmas Means to Me,” from Elf; “Somewhere in My Memory,” from Home Alone; “ The First Noel,” from The Preacher’s Wife; and “A Muppet Christmas Carol Medley,” from A Muppet Christmas Carol.
Additional songs came from movies such as The Sound of Music, Die Hard, Anastasia, and Love Actually. Soloist Maureen Brower presented “Oh Come, Emmanuel” from The Nativity Story and “Auld Lang Syne” from Forest Gump. The performance ended with “I Heard the Bells” from I Heard the Bells.
The chorus and orchestra were under vocal director Cat Williamson, who has returned to the Lake Country Chorus. The orchestra included Bob Williamson on bass guitar, cellist Valentina Ignjic, Louis Romanos on drums, Karrie Frey playing the flute, saxophonist Marc Gilly, JoJo Glidewell on keyboards, trombonist Kevin Hyde, trumpeter Matt Latocha, Scotty Allen on viola, and Alison Stand Mueller with Dr. Rachael Fischer playing violins.
