Third-grade business owners are ready for the customers in Dr. Rita Thomas’ classroom.
Josiah Marquet Little, Morgan Tally, and Tyles Carter, partners in Unique Art, a “business” making art, emojis and notes, laid their products out for customers. “We learned that if we don’t make enough products we’ll run out, and it will not be a good business,” Josiah said. Kimberly Donovan, sole owner of PPP by Kimberly D., preferred to run her business by herself to avoid disagreements with partners. Kimberly showcased her products – pillows, pom poms, and Lorax trees – that she made herself. “I learned that it’s not always easy to sew it all quickly,” she said.
Shortly before the school year ended, several third graders at Putnam County Elementary School (PCES) tried on the role of business owners through a hands-on school project.
