After serving Putnam Christian Outreach (PCO) for nine years, Executive Director Vanessa Jackson is departing to begin a new career as corporate director of human resources for a resort community in Naples, Fla.
In her time with PCO, Jackson was instrumental in carrying out the organization’s mission to serve Putnam County and surrounding communities with caring hands and loving hearts. She implemented PCO’s backpack ministry program, which provides food to many students on Fridays for the weekends at home with little or no food. Additionally, the bi-monthly PCO Food Drive was increased to monthly distributions under Jackson’s leadership, enabling more than 1,200 local families to be fed annually.
“Vanessa has been such a wonderful force here at Putnam Christian Outreach and her impact here has been tremendous. We celebrate and applaud the dedication and commitment that Vanessa has poured into PCO and the community,” PCO Board Chairman Rex Corlett said. “I speak for the entire PCO Board and PCO staff when I say that we will miss Vanessa dearly. We wish her and her family the best as they embark on their new journey, and we pray that God will bless her in her new role.”
Jackson said leaving PCO was an extremely difficult decision, but she is looking forward to many opportunities she expects the transition will provide for her family.
“I have truly cherished the experiences and opportunities I have had here at Putnam Christian Outreach, as well as the many incredible people I have had the pleasure to work with and serve,” Jackson said. “My heart will always be here with PCO, and I will continue to be a support presence for PCO in the future.”
