PCHS students earn Georgia Tech early acceptance

Last Friday morning, three Putnam County High School (PCHS) seniors — Carlos Jimenez, Carolyn Thomas, and Vidhi Raiyani — got the surprise of a lifetime when notified of earning Early Action acceptance to Georgia Tech.

Instead of waiting for the evening’s official announcement, Georgia Tech’s Antwuan Holloway personally visited the school to deliver the news early.

The entire school celebrated these students’ academic accomplishments with proud families, teachers, administrators, and even some Tech alumni were on hand, including longtime Putnam County resident Larry Moore.

To put these students’ accomplishments in perspective, consider that for Fall 2025, Georgia Tech received nearly 67,000 applications, with just 8,500 offers, resulting in a total acceptance rate of approximately 12.7 percent.

Plus, according to Georgia Tech online statistics, Early Action alone had 36,185 applicants, with only 2,950 successful, for an 8.1% admission rate.
