Rotary recognizes December Students of the Month

The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties has recognized the following Students-of-the-Month- Month for December 2025: Jake Carnes and Addison Coker (Gatewood), Jevohn Walker (Greene County High School), Wyatt Imhof (Lake Oconee Academy), and Jackson Dodd (Putnam County High School).

Jake Carnes is a Gatewood High School senior, and his parents are Kevin and Mandy Carnes. Jake is an honor roll student, a Senior Ambassador, and an Anchor Club member. He also serves as a two-time president of FCA and is part of the Farmers & Merchants Bank Junior Board of Directors.

Jake plays football and competes in track and field for Gatewood. He spends his spare time at Young Life and works at Reynolds during the summer. He considers his leadership and teamwork to be his strongest qualities. After high school, Jake plans to attend Georgia Southern University to major in construction management.

He named his history teacher, Tyler Vandusen, as his Rotary Teacher of the Month.

Jevohn Walker is a Greene County High School senior, and his parents are Yolanda Walker and Joe Peek. Jevohn is a member of Beta Club, CTI, FCCLA, and FFA. He is also a member of the Greene County Schools Student Superintendent Advisory Board, where he helps make changes in the schools for the better.

Jevohn is active in his community, participating in Second Harvest and FFA community projects. He is also known for serving as a role model for his GCHS peers.

Upon graduating from high school, Jevohn plans to pursue a job in law enforcement. He is currently enrolled in Work-Based Learning at GCHS, where he is able to spend time working as an intern with the GCSS school resource officers better to prepare him for a career as a police officer.

Paula Brock is Jevohn's chosen GCHS Rotary Teacher of the Month.

Wyatt Imhof is a senior at Lake Oconee Academy High School. Wyatt’s parents are Tom and Elvia Imhof.

A Lake Oconee Academy honor roll student, Wyatt is a member of the Senior Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Jesse Mercer Chapter of Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society at. He enjoys playing tennis and is a member of LOA’s varsity team.

He enjoys listening to oldies music, watching football, and spending time with family. Wyatt also writes for the Greensboro Herald-Journal, covering LOA football results. Wyatt said that because of their guidance and unconditional love, his parents are who he most respects.

Jackson Dodd is an outstanding student whose leadership, initiative, and strong character at Putnam County High School make him a shining representative of the school. As a leader on the baseball team, he models hard work, dedication, and teamwork, consistently encouraging his peers and setting a positive example.

Jackson’s leadership extends beyond varsity athletics, though, as he took the initiative to establish a pickleball club, giving students a fun, inclusive way to stay active and connect.

A true student-athlete, Jackson brings the same commitment to his academics as to extracurricular activities, balancing maturity and focus while uplifting those around him. Jackson’s contributions to the PCHS community make him a remarkable role model and a truly deserving Rotary Student of the Month. Stephen Phillips is Jackson’s chosen Putnam County High School teacher of the month.
