Summer camp fun for young artists at The Plaza

Families looking for enriching summer activities for children and teens will find a wide range of creative opportunities this summer at The Plaza Arts Center in downtown Eatonton.

First up is Camp Broadway, held June 1-5 in partnership with The Arts Barn. Designed for rising 3rd through 8th graders, this camp introduces students to acting, singing, dancing, and ensemble performance.

Campers participate in theater games, rehearsals, and collaborative activities before showcasing their skills in a final performance on the evening of June 5 on The Plaza stage. Camp Broadway is $175 per camper.

For older students who want to deepen their artistic training, The Plaza offers an Art Intensive June 8-12, geared toward 6th through 12th graders interested in developing skills in pottery, painting, and other visual arts disciplines. The intensive format gives students the chance to focus on technique while experimenting with multiple creative mediums. The Art Intensive is $300 per camper.

Finally, younger children can participate July 20-24 in The Plaza’s popular Art Camp. Open to rising 1st through 5th graders, the camp encourages imagination through daily hands-on projects such as painting, tie dye, and pottery. This program blends creativity and play, allowing campers to explore art in an engaging and supportive setting.

Art Camp is $125 per camper.

The Plaza Arts Center’s summer camp offerings demonstrate how arts education can inspire creativity, encourage teamwork, and help young people grow in confidence. Register campers online at plazacenter.org or by calling 706-923-1655.
