Lake Oconee Lutheran hosts benefit concert

Lake Oconee Lutheran Church hosted a benefit concert on May 20, raising $3,400 for The Victory Train.This free concert was presented by the East Georgia Concert Chorale, directed by Dr. Brian Williams, and accompanied on piano by his wife, Dr. Jana Williams, who is also a singer and harpist.

Scottish Heritage Sunday celebrated

Greensboro’s First Presbyterian Church held Scottish Heritage Sunday on May 18, during which the church explored its Scottish roots.Following the ringing of the bell, the Athens Piper Band began the processional with the Highland Cathedral, accompanied by Moona Yu on piano.Pastor Rev.

For the second-straight year, overcast weather did nothing to dampen spirits for the 14th annual Pirate Parade on Lake Sinclair. And similar to last year’s turnout, about 20 pirate-manned boats made the approximate four-mile trek by water from Little River Marina alongside Hwy.

PCHS band performs at GCSU Art & Jazz Fest

Georgia College & State University’s Music Department and Allied Arts hosted the 36th annual Art and Jazz Fest on April 26 at the university’s front campus. The event was also live-streamed on the GCSU music department’s Facebook page.
