The Putnam County Fire Department announced last week that as of July 1, PCFD Station 7 in the Long Shoals area (111 Crowe Dr., Eatonton), has been assigned two full-time career firefighters and Fire Engine No. 7.
A PCFD release said these assignments significantly enhance emergency response capabilities to the eastern edge of Putnam County near the bottom end of Lake Oconee. They also boost the department’s overall service delivery capabilities throughout the entire county.
The expansion is part of PCFD’s ongoing commitment to improving public safety and providing timely, professional emergency responses to the communities it serves.
“We have been working toward this goal for quite some time, and we’re excited to finally make it a reality,” Putnam County Fire Chief Thomas McClain said. “This step forward represents our dedication to continuous improvement and to meeting the growing needs of Putnam County.”
