Driver points gun at a passenger

A Milledgeville woman was arrested for pointing a gun at the passenger of another vehicle while she was driving on U.S. Hwy. 441 last week.

The passenger called 911 around 1:45 p.m. Dec. 1 and reported that a brown BMW was speeding and swerving in and out of traffic. The passenger said he was in a truck traveling north on Milledgeville Road/Hwy. 441, and as the BMW passed them, the driver pointed a pistol at him, according to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

Deputy Nick Fazio responded to the call and saw the BMW, but reportedly lost sight of it as he turned his patrol vehicle around. Deputy Sgt. James Barbee later caught up with it and pulled the BMW over.

The driver, identified as Paesha Brown, reportedly admitted to Barbee that she had a gun in the car and told him where it was.

“The gun [a .380 semi-automatic pistol] was turned over to us, and it was a match to the description of the gun given by the passenger that he said was pointed at him,” Sills said.

Sgt. Barbee noted in his report that he smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle when Brown got out of the car. A search of the BMW revealed a bag containing marijuana and an opened glass bottle of tequila.

Paesha Deshon Brown, 28, of Charlton Street, Milledgeville, was arrested at 2:14 p.m., Dec. 1 by Sgt. James Barbee, charged with driving with suspended registration, possession of less than 1 oz. of marijuana, no insurance, open container in vehicle, and pointing or aiming a gun or pistol at another.

She was released on $3,545.50 property bonds.
