An Eatonton man who fled authorities in a dangerous 14-mile car chase and rammed his car into a deputy’s vehicle pled guilty in court last week and was sentenced to a total of 50 years for the myriad of charges he faced.
Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Eatonton Police Department authorities went to Lower Harmony Road on March 30, 2023, to serve arrest warrants on 36-year-old Christopher “White Boy” Alexis Hill, on various drug distribution-related charges. When the law enforcement officers pulled up to his house, Hill jumped into his car and raced away from authorities.
Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills is quoted in an Eatonton Messenger newspaper article at that time saying the car chase went through the county and city for 14 miles, sometimes reaching 100 miles per hour.
“He ran stop signs, went through red traffic lights, drove on the wrong side of the road (and) was throwing stuff out the windows.” Sills said. The pursuit ended on the Sparta Highway when PCSO Sgt. Justin Brock attempted a pit maneuver, but Hill rammed his car back into the deputy’s patrol car. So, the law enforcement officers boxed in Hill’s vehicle with theirs forced him into a ditch, and captured him.
A subsequent parole violation search warrant execution at Hill’s house resulted in the seizure of 5 pounds of marijuana packaged for distribution, 1 ounce of powder cocaine which could be used to make 10 ounces of crack, plus vape pens containing THC.
On Feb. 13 in Putnam County Superior Court, Hill pled guilty to two counts of felony obstruction, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Superior Court Chief Judge Brenda H. Trammell sentenced Hill to a total of 50 years with the first 30 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation, with credit for time served in custody since his March 2023 arrest.
Hill also was fined a total of $6,855, according to court records from the Putnam County Clerk of Court’s office.
