Eatonton Police Department officers are investigating a shooting that took place in Eatonton last night. No one was injured, Police Chief Howell Cardwell said.
A few minutes after 8 p.m., a car drove by a residence on the 300 block of Grove Street, and the occupants in the vehicle fired gunshots at four people who were sitting in another car, according to Cardwell. He said the bullets hit the car, but no one in the car was hit.
“The suspects have been identified, and we are actively looking for them,” Cardwell said.
At 5:30 p.m. Friday, Chief Cardwell said a 16-year-old has been arrested in connection with Thursday night's shooting. His name is being withheld because he is a juvenile. Cardwell also said his department is still investigating the case and interviewing people.
"We are following leads, and more arrests are forthcoming," he said.
