During halftime of last Friday's football game against Edmund Burke Academy in Eatonton, Gatewood held its Homecoming Queen ceremony, which had been postponed for two weeks due to Hurricane Helene.
The ceremony opened with an introduction of underclassmen representatives, including 8th grader Ellie Padula escorted by Cooper Craine; freshmen Katelyn Hall and Michael Moss III; sophomores Kesler Atkison with Fischer Dillard, and Isabell Leeper escorted by Landon Moreno, still in his football gear.
Junior class representatives included Presley Moss, escorted by Gatewood basketball star Matt Allen; Ellie McMillan with Ben Brannen, also fresh off the gridiron; and Natalie Sills with Colt Jenkins.
A male family member escorted each of the nine senior class Homecoming Court representatives, and each received a floral bouquet presented by individual K-5 “buddies.”
