Global Samaritans to host concert for a cause at the Corry House

Global Samaritans recently announced its 11th annual Concert at the Corry House will be held Friday, Oct. 21, with the Swingin’ Medallions, a Southern tradition since 1962, performing this year. The Swingin’ Medallions have performed throughout the nation in thousands of venues with their diverse repertoire making them overwhelming favorites among all age groups.

The Corry House venue (6641 Union Point Highway, Union Point), opens at 5 p.m. with dinner to be served prior to the concert, which will begin at 7 p.m.

Dinner, desserts and beverages will be available for purchase at the venue, or dinner tickets may be purchased online in advance. The Curio Market also will be open, featuring handmade Zambian crafts and patrons won’t want to miss the Silent Auction.

Global Samaritans, founded in 1997 by Drs. Bo and Ruby Cheves of Greene County, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to showing God’s love by enhancing the physical and spiritual wellbeing of the people in Southern Zambia. Global Samaritans includes a children’s home, secondary school and pastors’ conference center, located just outside Livingstone, Zambia. From its base at the children’s home, Global Samaritans also operates three commercial well-drilling rigs providing water to villages that do not currently have access to clean water.

This year we are celebrating the 20th year of our Children’s Home and are excited to welcome Orphanage Administrator Mirriam Konga, who is visiting the United States for the first time and will be sharing news from Zambia. We have been very blessed this past year with the arrival of new children and house mothers, our ZAM JAM camps, and many water wells installed.

Tickets to the 11th annual Concert at the Corry House are $25 for lawn seats (bring your favorite chair or blanket), or $40 for reserved seating ($300 for a table of eight). Tickets are available online at www.globalsamaritans.org, or at The Corry House the day of the concert. Please call (706) 296-1765 with any questions. All proceeds benefit Global Samaritans Children’s Home in Zambia.
