Lake Country Village to transform Lake Oconee Parkway

Shaifer Partners unveiled plans for Lake Country Village this month, a mixed-use development off Lake Oconee Parkway and Old Phoenix Road anchored by a Publix grocery store.

Clearing land for the project began the first week of December. The development will feature retail, dining, and commercial spaces. To meet the area’s steady growth, the developers said the Lake Country Village development “aims to bring residents and visitors additional shopping convenience, a place to connect, and enjoy life at Lake Oconee.”

Plans for the site include a hotel, conference center, and residential components to increase the community’s appeal. Shaifer Partners Manager Adam Shaifer emphasized the community-focused vision behind Lake Country Village, highlighting its potential to enrich the lives of residents and visitors.

“Lake Country Village is an opportunity to unite people,” he stated. “We’ve intentionally brought retail, dining, and community spaces to this area.”

Preparation truly meets opportunity in this instance, he added.

“Since 1997, we’ve been assembling these properties that will become Lake Country Village, waiting and thoughtfully responding to the area’s growth,” Shaifer said. “Now it is the right time for the Lake Country community to benefit from a place where connections are forged, and businesses will thrive.”

An official groundbreaking event will be scheduled in January 2025, with details to be announced soon.
