An Eatonton man was arrested June 8, following an investigation into allegations by family members of inappropriate physical contact with a child, according to incident reports from the Eatonton Police Department.
Michael Jerome Jordan, 50, of the 1200 block of Madison Road, Eatonton, was arrested on charges of sexual battery-family violence. He was released on a $7,500 property bond.
The alleged incidents began taking place in 2018, according to the report by EPD officer Rebecca Meeks, who made the arrest.
The Division of Family and Children Services contacted Meeks for the investigation, and the girl and her sister were taken to The Crescent House, a hospital in Macon for abused children that provides specially trained professionals who conduct forensic interviews, medical exams, crisis intervention, therapy, and support.
The alleged incidents happened repeatedly, including when the family went on a trip out of the country. There, both girls slept in the same room and the other sister witnessed it happening. When the girls finally told their mother, she reportedly called DFCS.
After reviewing the evidence, Meeks read Jordan his rights and the allegations against him. At that time, Jordan told the officer the two girls were “acting like tomboys crawling all over him when he accidentally touched (the girl),” according to the report.
