An Eatonton man who was working as the general manager of Domino’s Pizza is accused of stealing money from the pizzeria.
Brandon Allen Farley, 34, of Chase Circle, Eatonton, is facing charges of theft by taking (felony) and probation violation (fraudulent checks).
According to Eatonton Police Department reports, the “incrustations” against the Eatonton pizzeria began in January when Farley was supposed to deliver the day’s cash sales to the bank.
Rather than being slow or late, the deposits reportedly were not delivered at all. Any way you slice it, the five nondelivered deposits totaled $2,558, according to EPD Officer Blaze Waldroup’s report. Spanning Jan. 31 and March 20, the deposits were made on days when Farley was on duty as manager at the pizzeria’s closing time.
Waldroup reviewed documents of deposits from the restaurant’s home office and The People’s Bank of Eatonton, as well as security video footage.
“Officer Blaze Waldroup did a great job handling this case and should be commended,” Eatonton Police Chief Howell Cardwell said.
To top it off, Farley was the one who signed the bank deposit bags out of the restaurant, and each of the empty deposit bags was found in Farley’s car when he was arrested, Cardwell said.
The investigation revealed Farley apparently “kneaded the dough.”
“Farley stated that he needed the money for an alleged medical emergency,” Detective Hargrove Jones wrote in his report. “(He) stated that he was not making enough money from his job, and he needed to gather enough money to pay for a medication that he did not wish to state the name of. … He stated that he needed approximately $3,000 to afford the medicine, otherwise he would run out.”
This most recent arrest is one of others in the domino effect of Farley’s 26-page criminal case file. The previous convictions include identity fraud, identity theft, and felony shoplifting, according to Cardwell and court records.
Jail records reveal Farley is being held in Putnam County jail without bond.
