P&Z votes for two approvals

Boat sales in a former Scott Road automotive museum received a conditional-use permit last week from the Putnam County Planning and Zoning Commission.

However, Brandon Bridges, the property owner and agent for Molfin Investments, agreed to several conditions. For example, all boats must be inside the building. And expansion of the business would be allowed in an adjacent building, but for “accessories” only.

A Buford boat dealer is reportedly linked into a planned expansion into the Lake Oconee area.

In a second action, the commission recommended approval for a nine-lot division of a roughly 30-acre tract on Edward Reaves Road. Five lots of more than five acres would remain zoned Agricultural (AG) and four smaller lots would be rezoned residential (R-1).

The lot boundaries and rezonings were a prelude to inheritance decisions by Reaves family members.
