Families looking for enriching summer activities for children and teens will find a wide range of creative opportunities at The Plaza Arts Center.
From theater to visual arts camps, this summer’s activities are designed to help students explore artistic talents, build confidence, and connect with others through creativity.
There are three camps to choose from this summer at The Plaza. First up is Camp Broadway, held June 1–5, in partnership with The Arts Barn. Designed for rising 3rd through 8th graders, the camp introduces students to acting, singing, dancing, and ensemble performance. Campers participate in theater games, rehearsals, and collaborative activities before showcasing their skills in a final performance on the evening of June 5.
Camp Broadway is $175 per camper.
For older students who want to deepen their artistic training, The Plaza offers an Art Intensive from June 8–12. This advanced camp is geared toward 6th through 12th graders interested in developing skills in pottery, painting, and other visual arts disciplines.
The intensive format gives students the chance to focus on technique while experimenting with multiple creative mediums. The Art Intensive is $300 per camper.
Younger children can participate in The Plaza’s popular Art Camp, scheduled for July 20–24. Open to rising 1st through 5th graders, the camp encourages imagination through daily hands-on projects such as painting, tie dye, and pottery. The program blends creativity and play, allowing campers to explore art in an engaging and supportive setting.
Art Camp is $125 per camper.
The Plaza Arts Center’s summer offerings demonstrate how arts education can inspire creativity, encourage teamwork, and help young people grow in confidence. Campers can register online at plazacenter.org or by calling 706-923-1655.
Scholarships are available for each camp. Inquire by phone or by emailing moreinfo@theplazacenter.org.
