A Putnam County High School teacher accidentally shot himself on school property but is recovering. No one else was on the property at the time, authorities say. The teacher was delivering a vehicle to the school on Sunday, Jan.

Timeline proposed for new school construction

Assistant Superintendent Derick Austin reported the proposed timeline for the new elementary school to the Putnam County Board of Education on Monday. The timeline estimates the design will start in June with construction beginning in January 2024.
