Addison swears in five county board members

Putnam County Clerk of Superior Court Trevor Addison has sworn in five individuals on April 4 and April 8 to serve on two key boards within the county.Returning members Shona Bales and Evan Reese were each sworn in to continue their service on the Putnam County Board of Assessors.

Eatonton hosts BBQ and Blues Festival

The 3rd annual “Peg Leg” Howell BBQ & Blues Festival took place Saturday at downtown Eatonton’s City Center Stage, where hundreds of barbeque and music lovers shared their collective passions.

BOC hears Thunder Valley construction concerns

Officers ‘risk their lives’ to rescue reckless driver

A Newton County man was rescued from his burning pickup truck by Eatonton police officers, and then handcuffed and taken to jail.Officer Kevin Malloy was standing on the sidewalk in front of the Eatonton Police Department around 9:50 p.m.

Woman flown to hospital after house fire

A Putnam County woman was flown by medical helicopter this morning following a fire at her home.Putnam County Fire Department Chief Thomas McClain said a call came in at 7:59 a.m. reporting a porch fire at a residence on Rockville Springs Road.

Eatonton hosts municipal association at The Plaza

The Atlanta-based Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), an organization founded in 1933 to advise, advocate for, provide training to, and collectively represent municipal governments statewide, met last Wednesday evening at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton.
