Pound of meth pulled from Eatonton’s streets

Once again, the Eatonton Police Department and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office combined forces to get drugs off the streets of Eatonton and Putnam County. This time, it was more than a pound of methamphetamine.

Last week’s Sunday at the Museum was more grand than usual at The Plaza Arts Center. Eleven local sports greats were honored on April 7 at the unveiling of the Sports Wall of Fame. These men were recognized for excellence in their fields and most importantly have important ties to Putnam County.

Citizens lose thousands of dollars to scams

Local residents have lost thousands of dollars due to scams recently, and Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills says he is frustrated that it’s happening so often.“It’s why we don’t have bank robberies anymore,” Sills opined.

12-year-long search for Macon giant ends

American Giant hunter Joel Baker made a dream discovery in the woods of Jones County near Milledgeville. Located near its original home, a 20-foot former Phillips 66 cowboy was found and rescued for restoration on March 14.
