JDP playground option chosen at meeting

Three playset options were presented Feb. 9 in a special county council meeting for Eatonton-Putnam County residents to consider for installation at the recently refurbished Jimmy Davis Park (JDP), near downtown Eatonton.

Appeal being filed to challenge Rivian decision

Following a Jan. 2 ruling by Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Judge Stephen A. Bradley that dismissed a lawsuit that could have halted development for an electric vehicle manufacturing plant for Rivian, the plaintiffs have appealed.

State House budget writers OK $37.5B midyear spending plan

The Georgia House Appropriations Committee approved Gov. Brian Kemp's $37.5 billion fiscal 2024 midyear budget Tuesday. With the state sitting on an unprecedented $16 billion surplus, lawmakers signed off on a $5 billion spending increase, 15.

Greensboro’s Savannah Court fate delayed, again

An arrest has been made after residents of Misty Grove Lane had been constantly wary for a month or longer. “A man was seen creeping around people’s yards in the early mornings and at night around Misty Grove Lane,” Putnam County Sheriff Howard R. Sills described.
