Two men who reportedly received a FedEx package containing marijuana from California last week are now in Putnam County jail. Keirreon Alial Farley, 22, of Uncle Remus Court, Eatonton, and Jerrit Lorenzo Wyatt, 21, of Hayes Street, Madison, were arrested around 3:15 p.m. Oct.

• The first of two weeks of advance voting for the three contested seats on Eatonton City Council, and for the vacant District 3 seat on the Putnam Board of Commissioners saw an underwhelming voter turnout.

New Putnam County fire station opens Monday

Next Monday, Oct. 30, the three-building, $6.5 million, two-years-under-construction complex for Putnam County fire, emergency medical, and coroner services will be dedicated and opened for visitors. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., followed by an open-door opportunity until 4 p.m.
