For the sixth straight year, Duke’s Lounge and Dawg House hosted its Memorial Day tradition, the solemn playing of “Taps” by trumpeter Col. Larry McClendon.
As the sun began to dip toward the waters of Lake Sinclair, a quiet stillness fell over the lakeside lawn at Duke’s, where McClendon started to the familiar, mournful notes of “Taps” precisely at 3 p.m.
