Dear Editor,
What a great time I had at the ice cream social at The Plaza last Saturday!
While the homemade ice cream was yummy, the social part was soul stirring. Meeting up with friends you haven’t seen in ages, seeing kids enjoying the games, the cake walk and fire truck display, being treated to a free lunch of hot dogs, lemonade and watermelon, hearing live music, including barbershop singing, and seeing the Sole Momentum Cloggers tap their soles to spirited music.
Actually, it was more than soul stirring; it was more like “sole” stirring, making all of us in the audience want to tap our soles to the beat of the music.
The Plaza’s mission statement is, “Connecting the Community through the Arts.” This event connected us all by heart and soul/sole, no matter which way you want to spell it!
