Last Friday night, the Lake Oconee Humane Society (LOHS) held its annual Wine, Wags & Whiskers charity fundraiser at Festival Hall in Greensboro.

This event was sold out, and all attendees enjoyed great music by Slim Pickens, delicious food from Metropolis, desserts by Café 44, wine, beer, and live and silent auctions featuring items donated by LOHS partners, sponsors, and supporters.

After the event raised $150,00, a release by LOHS stated: “While the $150,000 milestone is cause for celebration, LOHS continues to face increased demand in the community. We are seeing more animals in distress. This funding helps us tremendously, and we are so thankful to the sponsors and supporters who made an impact. With continued support toward our mission and programs, even more animals will find the love and safety they deserve. The event is less than 20 percent of our operating budget needs this year.”
