Frances Cheryl Ashfield Weems passed away Sunday morning, November 16th, surrounded by her family.
Cheryl was born on December 14, 1944, in Baldwin County, Georgia, the daughter of T.A. and Frances Clair Ashfield. Cheryl was married to Pat Weems for 58 years. They resided on their family farm in Putnam County. Cheryl spent 30 years teaching 2nd and 3rd grade in the Putnam County school system.
She was passionate about the children that she taught and remained in contact with several of her students. Cheryl loved to cook and plan events, which were usually centered around her family.
She is survived by her husband Pat Weems, children Daphne Nicholls (Joe Nicholls) and Jay Weems (Jana Weems), and grandchildren Joseph and T.J.
Nicholls, James Patrick, Elizabeth, and Kathryn Weems, and great-grandchildren Lottie, Ada, Millie, and Layne Nicholls.
Visitation was held at Williams Funeral Home in Eatonton, Georgia, from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18th. Funeral arrangements were on Wednesday, November 19th, at 11:00 a.m., beginning at Williams Funeral Home and ending with internment at Wesley Chapel.
