BALDWIN COUNTY
Milledgeville-Baldwin County Allied Arts debuted its Deck the Walls exhibit Dec. 5 at the John Marlor Arts Center.
“This is our first holiday showcase, bringing artists together to create artwork that reminds them of the holiday season. No matter the holiday they chose from around this time, they had the freedom to create it in any form,” Allied Arts Executive Director Rebekah Tobar said.
Artists from Putnam, Baldwin, and Hancock counties were featured in the exhibit on display in the right front room and hallways of the art center.
“From classic winter scenes to contemporary perspectives of the holiday spirit, each piece shows a new vision and heart of its creator,” Tobar said. “Each artist came together to debut this exhibit of creating a new holiday tradition for Baldwin County.”
With 30 pieces in total, Deck the Halls featured artists Kristin Allen, Destyn Bailey, Emma Berry, Chris Cook, Audrey Crumbley, Carmenza Moreno, Tammi McMullen, Sandy McPherson, Cheryl Raber, Dustin Rogers, Rebekah Tobar, Ann Q. Vinson, and Willow Wyn.
“Rebekah and I joined the exhibit with our creations to share our own artistic views of the holiday with our community and visitors,” Allied Arts Program Director Kristin Allen said.
“Anyone can create, and we want always to remind every person who walks into our center that it’s possible to learn and be a part of something. No level of experience is required to be featured in one of the many exhibits we have throughout each year.”
Deck the Walls will remain on display through Dec. 19 at 201 N. Wayne St. in Milledgeville. The John Marlor Art Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; however, Friday hours may vary, so call 478-4523950 to confirm.
