Katherine “Kat” Deraney Winters, 77, of Eatonton, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Kat, as she was known, was born on January 21, 1948, in McDonough, GA, to the late Edward Charles Deraney and Elizabeth Eileen Flyhan.
Kat enjoyed cooking and was famous for her sweet potato and pecan pies, which everyone loved.
She also loved Elvis music and taking care of her family and friends.
She loved her life.
There was a private family service.
Kat is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Craig Winters, daughter Misty (John) Beall, siblings James (Christine) Deraney, Linda Deraney Stevens, grandchildren Tim (Brittany) Milam, John (Courtney) Milam, James Milam, Jonathan Beall, Connor Beall, and great-grandchildren Cyrus Jo Milam, Kade Milam.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory would be appreciated to Christ Our King and Savior Church or Providence Baptist Church of Shady Dale. Everyone will greatly miss her.
