St. Mary’s shines bright in the runway lights

More than 200 people enjoyed a night of fashion, community, and philanthropy as St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation hosted its biannual fashion show fundraiser, Legacy of Style, Feb. 26 at Lake Oconee Church.

The event highlighted eight local boutiques from the Lake Oconee, Athens, and Augusta areas, modeled by volunteers from across our region. Legacy of Style raises money for the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation’s mission to support and enhance the high-level care provided by St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital.

Models took full advantage of the extended catwalk to showcase the latest spring looks and trends. Guests enjoyed a dynamic runway experience featuring a wide range of styles — from modern casual wear to elegant evening ensembles — and celebrated each model with infectious enthusiasm.

Following the fashion show, attendees gathered for a reception that included a specially curated silent auction, drinks, and chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres. Auction items ranged from exclusive wellness packages to unique experiences donated by local businesses, helping to generate additional funds for the Foundation’s charitable efforts.

“We could not be more grateful to our organizing committee and the entire community for their amazing support of Good Sam’s healing mission,” said Jennifer Messer, chief development officer for St. Mary’s Health Care System. “That support makes it possible for St. Mary’s to provide the highest levels of service, technology, and care, right here in this community.”

The Foundation next turns its attention to the 2027 Heart and Soul Gala. In the meantime, donations are always welcome at bit.ly/4urOzno and are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
