The Artisans Village Guild (AVG) will host its 10th annual Eatonton One Day Paint Out on April 18, throughout downtown Eatonton.
After two award-winning plein air (“open air”) artists, Allison Doke and Ginny Fergus, present two workshops in the morning, attending painters will compete in the AVG One Day Paint Out on Saturday afternoon, creating finished paintings outdoors in only four hours.
All paintings must also be done within one mile of The Artisans Village Art Gallery at 110 W. Marion St., directly across from the historic Putnam County courthouse. The two workshop instructors will then judge the work, with cash prizes to be awarded at about 5:15 p.m.
Citizens and visitors to Eatonton are welcome and encouraged to stroll the downtown streets and watch as familiar scenes become art. Everyone is welcome to attend the awards that afternoon at AVG, too, where the artwork created will also be on sale.
All remaining AVG One Day Paint Out artwork will remain available for sale at the gallery from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays through July 6.
