Mullis signs with GMC

Putnam County senior Jade Mullis is taking the next step in her golf career, as she recently signed to play at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville.

For Mullis, the decision came down to more than just golf.

“I chose GMC because it felt like the best place for me to grow both as a player and a person,” Mullis said. “The coaching staff really believes in me, and I’m excited for the opportunity to compete at the next level.”

Mullis has been a key piece of Putnam County’s girls golf program throughout her career, developing into one of the team’s most consistent performers while also embracing a leadership role. Her work ethic and steady presence have helped set the tone for the War Eagles, something head coach Mollie Jones says will be missed.

“We are incredibly proud of Jade for signing to play golf at the collegiate level,” Jones said. “She has been one of our top players and a leader for our team, consistently setting the standard with her work ethic and performance.”

Beyond her accomplishments on the course, Mullis made clear that a strong support system has shaped her journey.

“I couldn’t have done any of this without my Lord and Savior, my parents, my coaches, my teammates, my teachers, and my closest friends who have supported me every step of the way,” she said.

As Mullis prepares for her next chapter, Jones is confident in her future at the collegiate level.

“We’re excited to see what she accomplishes next and know she will be a tremendous asset at the next level,” Jones said.

While Mullis’ signing marks a major milestone, the Putnam County girls golf team still has work to do this season. The War Eagles now turn their attention to the upcoming area match, where they’ll seek to build on their success with Mullis leading the way.
