Mary Anne Brown Kenney, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12th, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Baker officiating.
Burial followed at Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Kenney was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, on September 5, 1940, to the late Jim Edward Brown and Martha Jane Hodges Brown. She was a member of the Class of 1958 at Baldwin High School. After graduation, she moved into the nursing dorm at Central State Hospital and received her certification as a Lab Technician. In 1975, she became stay at home mom. After her daughter-in-law opened her own Bakery, she went every day to help in any way she could. She was a long-time member of Concord Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin D. Kenney of Eatonton, her son, Brian D. Kenney (Jennifer) of Eatonton, two brothers, Johnny Brown (Phyllis) and Jimmy Brown, a sister, Sara Jo Jackson (Hayward), all of Milledgeville, two grandchildren, Josh Mata (Jenny) and Travis Hatley, two great-grandchildren, Nolen Mata and Camden Mata.
The family received friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concord Methodist Church or to the donor’s favorite charity.
