GREENE COUNTY
Downtown Greensboro is kicking off the summer in a big way with its first Moonlight on Main concert of the season this Friday at 7 p.m., when Mixtape takes the stage in front of Festival Hall.
This free community concert invites residents and visitors alike to bring a chair, gather with friends and family, and enjoy a night full of music, dancing, food, and fun under the lights of Downtown Greensboro.
Known across the Southeast for high-energy performances and a nostalgic throwback experience, Mixtape has performed at historic theaters, festivals, performing arts centers, and major events nationwide. Their “Back to the BOOMBOX!” show delivers a full-on ‘80s and ‘90s-party experience, complete with costumes, mashups, medleys, stage effects, confetti, and non-stop entertainment.
Concertgoers are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite 1980s or ‘90s attire, ready to dance the night away as Mixtape brings the biggest hits from two unforgettable decades to life.
“This is going to be an exciting kickoff to summer in Downtown Greensboro,” Main Street Event Coordinator Brittney Burden said. “We wanted to create an event where families, friends, and visitors can gather together, enjoy great music, support local businesses, and experience the energy of downtown.”
The event will also feature delicious food vendors, fun yard games, and children's face painting, making it a fun-filled evening for all ages. Downtown Greensboro’s restaurants and shops will be open for guests to enjoy throughout the night, too.
The next Moonlight on Main concert will be June 19, when the Nu South Players will take the stage, followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The series will wrap up July 17, with a jazzy performance by the Swingin’ Medallions.
