John “Jack” Stickline, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 26, 2026.
Mr. Stickline was a native of Baltimore, Md., and made his home on Lake Sinclair in Eatonton since 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Elizabeth (née Hartley), and brothers, Richard (Dunk) and C. Dennis (Denny).
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carole (née Kenney); daughters, Susan Blankenship and Beth Ann; son-in-law, Shane; and grandson, Aidan. He is also survived by his brother, Clement; sisters Jean Cuddington (twin to Jack), Sharon (Larry) Owens, and Moira Reinhardt; one surviving aunt, Rose Hartley Stedman; and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Mr. Stickline was a proud Navy veteran, serving on multiple ships from 1960 to 1964.
He continued his public service as a police officer with the Baltimore County Police Department from 1964 to 1966. He later worked for Western Electric, which became AT&T and then Lucent Technologies, retiring in 1999 after 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Milledgeville Newcomers Club for many years, serving as an officer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and played tennis for many years with the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association. In retirement, his favorite pastime was spending time on his boat with his “first mate,” Carole, and his family.
Funeral services will be private.
