Get ready for a swampload of fun as Shrek The Musical comes to life this week, on stage at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton.
A beloved, family-friendly production, Shrek The Musical invites audiences of all ages to journey into a hilarious fairy tale where ogres are heroes, donkeys talk, and true love comes in the most unexpected forms. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film, Shrek The Musical brings the iconic story to the stage with dazzling costumes, energetic choreography, and an unforgettable score.
The story follows Shrek, a grumpy yet lovable ogre whose quiet swamp is suddenly overrun by a band of misfit fairy-tale characters.
In a quest to reclaim his home, Shrek sets off on an adventure alongside his wisecracking sidekick, Donkey, to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Along the way, Shrek discovers that real friendship – and true love – can be found in the most unlikely places.
Audiences can expect a high-energy theatrical experience filled with laugh-out-loud moments, show-stopping musical numbers, and a heartwarming message about embracing what makes each of us unique.
