NHN Monte Carlo Night exceeds expectations

The ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee, was transformed Oct. 15, into an elegant Monte Carlo casino, where nearly 200 guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening benefiting Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) through classic casino games, lively auctions, and an enthusiastic paddle raise.

The evening exceeded its fundraising goals, generating support for NHN to provide eight vehicles to help local parents keep their jobs through reliable transportation, 16 critical home repairs to help neighbors remain safely in their homes, and 80 beds for children in Greene and Putnam counties who don’t have one of their own.

“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our community,” NHN Executive Director Allyn Rippin said. “Behind every one of these numbers is a real family whose life will change because of the generosity of everyone who came together that night. That’s an impact that will be felt long after the evening is over.”

The event’s success came thanks to the generosity of sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, and guests. Special thanks to Diamond Sponsors Exceptional Detailing & Restoration, Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties, and Weinberger’s Furniture, along with Dell Law Firm, the martini bar sponsor.

“The evening was filled with energy, spirit, and smiles,” event chair Charlotte Engel said. “It could not have happened without our team of volunteers working behind the scenes to make this evening such a success.”

NHN is experiencing significant growth as more families turn to the organization for help with life’s essentials. Currently, more than 80 neighbors are waiting for vehicle assistance and another 40 for critical home repairs.

With a goal of transforming 1,100 lives in 2026, NHN continues to expand its reach. Founded in 2020, Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring hope, stability, and dignity through critical home repairs, vehicle assistance, and its Beds for Kidz program. Serving Greene and Putnam counties, NHN provides practical, one-time assistance to help neighbors facing hardship regain their stability and independence.
