1959 – 2022
Ms. Bobbie “Ruth” Monday, 63, retired into Heavenly rest on April 9, 2022, at a Bibb County medical facility.
A beautiful memorial was held to honor her life on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Hurt’s Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Brother Reginald Millions.
Ms. Bobbie “Ruth” Monday was born on February 4, 1959, to the late Woodrow Monday, Sr. and the late Alice Rebecca Monday, also known as “Alice the Great.” Bobbie Ruth was a beloved lifelong resident of Putnam County and received her education through the Putnam County School System as a child. In the years following her schooling, Bobbie Ruth began employment at the Enterprise Aluminum Plant, which was her first job as a young adult, before later deciding to pursue a career in food services. After working in a school cafeteria for several years, Bobbie Ruth transitioned to a position at Ingles Supermarket, from which she eventually retired after ten years of dedicated service.
Bobbie Ruth came to be a faithful worshiper of Jehovah God and fully dedicated her life to Him. That dedication was symbolized in her public baptism on February 14, 1987. Serving Jehovah God was Bobbie Ruth’s biggest passion; she enjoyed her work in faithfully witnessing to those within her community, and anyone else she happened to cross paths with. Above all, Bobbie Ruth was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend to those who knew her. On the morning of April 9, 2022, Bobby Ruth fell fast asleep, awaiting the sound of God’s voice, knowing “the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out.” (John 5:28). Bobbie Ruth was loved dearly by many, and she will be greatly missed by all. Bobbie Ruth was preceded in death by her two older sisters, Annie B. Monday Little and Beatrice Monday Swinney.
To cherish her memory of love, kindness, and compassion, Bobbie Ruth leaves two sons, Wymann A. “Tony” Monday (Terrie) and Gantrick E. Monday; five brothers, William Woodrow II (Val), Larry Monday, Donald Monday (Betty), Gary Monday (Phyllis), and Morris Monday; six sisters, Deborah Parham (Lewis), Alice Monday-Alston, Fannie Monday Binion (James), Barbara Monday, Victoria Monday, and Andrea Monday; three aunts, Mary Rakestraw, Grace Brown, and Martha Barnes; one uncle, Mitchel Butler, Jr; three loving granddaughters, ZaKirah Monday, ZaMia Monday, and ZaNiyah Monday; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
