LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Georgia Softball Team (43-18) had two athletes snag All-American status in Sarah Mosley and Lacey Fincher.
The Ellijay, Georgia native Mosley added yet another accolade to her already impressive junior campaign. Mosley was selected as an All-American on the second team. She became the primary player to patrol third base for the Dawgs. Throughout the season she recorded a .971 fielding percentage she was also a part of 11 double plays this season. On the offensive side of things, Mosley led the squad in batting average hitting .418 on the season. She was also one of the best producers in the batter’s box knocking in 53 RBI and coming around to score 51 times. Mosley drove the big stick with 17 home runs and 12 doubles while also drawing 20 walks. She also had the lowest number of strikeouts with 11.
During her junior season, Mosley picked up an All-SEC team honor and an NFCA All-Region honor.
The Tanner-Williams, Alabama native Fincher was named an All-American on the third team to add to her impressive career as a Dawg. During her senior season, she acted as the designated player, and she led the squad in home runs with 19 as well as tying three other hitters for the most triples with two. She was a major producer in the lineup for the Dawgs with 51 RBI and coming around to score 45 times. She also drew a staggering 35 walks which led the team with the hitter closest to her having 25.
Fincher concluded her career at UGA with an All-SEC Freshman Team honor, an All-SEC Team honor, and two NFCA All-Region honors. She also finished in the top five in five different offensive categories including home runs, walks, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and walk to strikeout ratio. She had a whopping 49 home runs in her four-year career at UGA.
Between both Mosley and Fincher, they hit 36 home runs, drove in 104 runs, and came around to score 96 times. They also had a combined one base percentage of .473.
