The Putnam County High School Boys JV and Varsity Basketball Teams traveled to Westside Macon and Eagles Landing. Varsity went undefeated picking up three wins. JV picked up a win but dropped two games later in the week.
The varsity boys took on the Seminoles of Westside Macon in their first contest of the week on Tuesday. It was a close contest through two halves and the War Eagles were able to pick up the 68-64 victory.
War Eagles varsity boys picked up where they left off in their Tuesday win to pick up two more wins on Wednesday. Putnam County traveled to Eagles Landing to play in their Summer League tournament. The first game was against Salem high school. The boys were able to pick up the 70-62 victory. They carried the momentum into their third game of the week. The War Eagles took a runaway 63-32 win over Southwest Dekalb High School for an undefeated week.
The JV boys kicked the week off for both squads playing the early game against Westside Macon. This was also a close game, and the War Eagles were able to pull out the 48-43 victory for some good momentum heading into the Summer League Tournament.
A tough couple of games for the JV squad capped off their three-game set. The first contest was against the host team of Eagles Landing. The War Eagles took the 48-46 overtime loss. The final game was another close one as the boys took a loss to Eastside High School. The final score was 50-45 to close out the tournament.
Both War Eagle squads will continue to play a competitive summer slate as they are set for several more contests throughout the summer months.
