Graveside services were held Friday, June 24, 2022 at the East Eatonton Cemetery for Mr. Darryl Elbert Banks, formerly of Putnam County.
Mr. Banks passed away at his residence in Athens, Georgia on June 6, 2022. He was born on October 28, 1957, in Eatonton, Georgia to the late Tom Collis, Sr. and Emma Bishop Banks.
Darryl was educated in Putnam County schools and worked at Horton Homes before moving to Athens. He thoroughly enjoyed his employment at The Varisty near the UGA campus, greeting customers and Bulldog fans on game day. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends as well as those in his new community.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Alan H. Banks and Marvin L. Banks, preceded Darryl in death. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Cannon (Pledge) of Centerville, GA, Theodora Reid of Eatonton, Carolyn Clemons and Beverly Waller (Cornelious) of Decatur, GA; brothers Tom Banks, Jr (Jacqueline) and Milner Leon Banks (Juanita) of Henry County, John Quincy Banks, of Decatur, Ronald Banks, Sr. of Eatonton, one aunt, Mrs. Willie Kate Nelson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
