Culutural center receives rare Civil War canteen

The Madison Morgan Cultural Center has been given a rare Civil War treasure, a wooden canteen with a detailed carving of Madison Prison.

During the Civil War the prison in Madison was located in what had been the Madison Steam Mill, the steam-driven cotton mill located about a halfmile west of the town square.
