Georgia Tech admissions director to speak in Greensboro

Rick Clark, Assistant Vice Provost and Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Georgia Tech, will be in Greensboro Sept. 15, to present a talk to high schoolers and their parents about the college admissions process.

Clark’s “Admissions 101” class will begin at 6 p.m. at United Methodist Church, South Campus (4741 Carey Station Rd.). It will address how to consider college options, approach pre-enrolment essays and interviews, and how to submit the best possible applications. His presentation will not be about Georgia Tech specifically, instead describing the college application process in general terms.

Clark co-authored The Truth about College Admission: A Family Guide to Getting In and Staying Together, and a companion workbook published under the same title. A native of Atlanta, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s from Georgia State University. Prior to coming to Tech, Clark was on the admissions staff at Georgia State, The McCallie School and Wake Forest University.

Presented by The Lake Oconee Youth Alliance and The First United Methodist Church of Greensboro, Clark’s presentation is open to all area high school students. Students interested in attending the program should contact their school guidance counselors’ office for additional details. – Contributed
