The Putnam County Republican Party (PCRP) will host a special event Sept. 26, at Lake Oconee Lutheran Community Center (1081 Lake Oconee Pky., Eatonton), honoring outgoing_U.S. Congressman Dr. Jody Hice, after eight years in Washington serving Georgia’s 10th Congressional District.
“Congressman Hice has served our many communities throughout the Georgia 10th Congressional District with a truly serving heart,” PCRP Chairman Steve Arnold said. “As John Adams was quoted as saying, ‘Always stand on principles … even if you stand alone.’ Congressman Hice has stood alone on a number of issues facing Georgia, as well as our nation.”
After being introduced by Georgia 10th District Chairman James Cooper, Hice will give a brief presentation on current issues facing Georgia and the nation as the November general election approaches.
Born in Atlanta, but raised in Tucker, Hice graduated from Asbury University, earning a master’s from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Luther Rice College and Seminary. He served as pastor in three Georgia counties for almost 25_years,_then hosted the Jody Hice Show, a conservative talk-radio program. Hice lives with his wife, Dee Dee, in Oglethorpe County and they have two daughters and four grandchildren.
