Putnam softball hosts ‘Pink Out’ game on Senior Night

Putnam County High School’s softball hosted Butler High from Augusta Sept. 15, in the team’s annual “Pink Out” game, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The team held a raffle for a grill, which Alicia and Anslee Bailey won; however the game itself did not make it into the win column for the Lady Eagles, as East Laurens prevailed with an 11-2 score.

The Lady Eagles also celebrated their seniors with a walk out and gift, and Putnam coach Molly Jones even made sure to include East Laurens’ two seniors. This part of the game was not about winning or losing, it was about the wonderful players getting ready to start the next chapter of their lives.

Putnam County seniors included: Jenna McDerment, Jada McDerment, Eva Espin, Taylor Eubanks, Sara Hulsey, Amelia Morris, transfer student Aada Kejonen, Cherish Rowell, Katelyn Hardie, and photographer Arella Cash.

Emotions were everywhere as these girls embraced this as their final season with their Putnam team. Upcoming games for Lady Eagles include the last home region game against Jefferson County Sept. 20, and a non-region rematch against East Laurens the next day.
