The onset of fall means the 2022 flu season has arrived, which always presents a concern for the doctors and staff at Putnam General Hospital (PGH). Though posing an increased health risk for the entire Lake Country community, the flu virus can be especially dangerous to people with compromised immune systems, cancer, kidney disease, or other chronic conditions.
In order to increase protection, PGH is holding its annual, free Drive Through Flu campaign this Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning at 8 a.m.
Flu shot consent forms are available online at putnamgeneral. com. Just click on Patient Information, then Forms, and fill out the online consent form before arriving at the hospital (101 Lake Oconee Pkwy, Eatonton) for a free flu shot.
This year the hospital will have both the standard vaccine and the high-dose vaccine for those over age 65.
PGH appreciates the community’s cooperation, participation, and support of its efforts to protect patients and all Putnam/Eatonton residents.
In case of disruption by inclement weather, call PGH at 706-485-2711 for updates, or visit online at putnamgeneral. com. - Contributed
