Thanks to the generosity and support of local communities, Ferst Readers is pleased to announce it has exceeded its goal to provide books for 500 children in Greene and Putnam Counties for the coming year.
Raffle ticket purchases of $36 made this happen for even more than 500 lucky children, with the tickets also entering purchasers in a drawing for one of 20 fabulous prizes. Ferst Readers calls this 2 Ways 2 Win!
“We are so grateful for all who support literacy in the youngest children in Greene and Putnam Counties though Ferst Readers. You can still buy raffle tickets up until the 7 p.m. drawing on Oct. 3 at Lake Oconee Bistro. The more tickets we sell, the more children’s lives we can change,” a Ferst Reader release stated.
2 Ways 2 Win #1: The first win is the gift of 12 new age-appropriate books for a child aged birth to 5 years old, one mailed to their home or sent home in backpacks each month for a year.
2 Ways 2 Win #2: The second win is a chance for raffle ticket holders to win one of 20 prizes donated by the following: flowers from Z. Grant Designs; shopping at Bend the Trend, Broad Street and Main Antiques and Home Décor, Camille & Company, Madeleine Page Footwear & Apparel, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Olive + Hive, Paper Soiree, and Ripe Thing Market & Eatery; also dining at Brickhouse Grub & Pub, Café 44, Dueling Piano Bar (Macon), El Sitio Mexican Restaurant, Filet Steak & Seafood, Georgia Butts, Lake Oconee Bistro, Pedro’s Mexican Grill & Cantina, P.J.s Coffee, The Rabbit Hole, and Silver Moon.
Save the date for the drawing to be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Lake Oconee Bistro. Winners do not need to be present to win, but we hope you will join us to celebrate and enjoy dinner there.
Please continue to be a literacy champion for young children in Greene and Putnam Counties by supporting Ferst Readers. Our fundraising efforts never end.
