Putnam Christian Outreach (PCO) received a check Oct. 5, from Guerry Key, a member of Putnam High School’s Class of 1956. The money came from a long-forgotten account in a bank near Greensboro that recently contacted Key as one of the few remaining authorized signers for the account. It was going to be liquidated by the bank, so Key contacted several of his surviving classmates and all agreed a donation to PCO would be the best way to wrap things up.
“We’re very grateful for donations like this,” PCO Chairman Rex Corlett said. “Somebody like Guerry coming in the door is a true delight because he represents a group of people who've been around Putnam County for a long time and understand how important Putnam Christian Outreach is to the community. I think that's very special.”
