Lake Country Med Aid launches online giving campaign

With the war in Ukraine raging on after more than eight months, the resiliency and determination of the Ukrainian people to protect their sovereignty must be admired. They recently transitioned from a defensive strategy to counter-offensive tactics and have recovered more than a thousand square miles of territory previously seized by the Russians.

However, the Russians have countered by stepping up their own efforts by launching cruise missiles and drone attacks on major civilian areas and infrastructures across the entire country.

Lake Country Medical Aid for Ukraine’s (LCMAU) grassroots partnership with Heal Ukraine Group (HUG) and Global Medical Knowledge Alliance (GMKA) is continuing to work hard to purchase and hand deliver life-saving medical supplies within seven to 10 days. These $25,000 to $30,000 financial tranches have been dispensed every three to four weeks thanks to the efforts of a team of volunteers from Boston to Warsaw who distribute supplies to individual medical facilities in Ukraine.

Continuing financial support remains essential to continue LCMAU’s humanitarian efforts into 2023; however, current funds will be depleted by year’s end, so we need ongoing support from our Lake Country community to meet our next objective, an online giving campaign to raise an additional $100,000.

There are many ways to support our “Help Us Help Them” online giving campaign. Donations can be made through our website at lakecountryaid. org or to avoid online processing fees, checks can be mailed or dropped off to Lake Country Medical, 119 Harmony Crossing, Ste. 3, Eatonton, GA 31024. Please include “Attn: Ukraine Aid” on the envelope.
