Putnam County Elementary and Primary Schools joined forces Oct. 27, for a “Trunk or Teach” event that included all kids from three-year-old Head Start to the fifth grade. The event took place in a parking lot behind the Primary School building and provided fun and educational activities for the children and their parents in the areas of reading and math. School counselors also offered activities teaching the children how to deal with emotional issues. “Instead of the traditional Fall Festival with a bunch of games, we wanted to do something for parents to take home and play games and help their kids at the same time,” Assistant Principal Whitney Smith said.
